Steve Ikebuwa is the Founding pastor as well as the President of Fountain of Praise Christian Center worldwide. He together with his associate pastors Josephine Okogie (now Josephine Onochie, Mrs) and Benjamin Kwentua started the work in 1993.  Steve Ikebuwa was born again as a Teenager in 1984.  He got committed to the work of God from that tender age until he was through with his secondary school education.  Before he got into the university in 1990, he has already attained leadership status in the Youth arm of his local church – TREM Akoka, Lagos.

The Original intent for Pastor Steve seeking admission into the then Bendel State University (now Ambrose Alli University) Ekpoma was to study Law. Before he was through with his JAMB and subsequent admission; however, he got a picture of what God will have him do in the university; it is much more than to study law.  Being a man who believes in Divine Timetable, Steve Ikebuwa waited for 3 years to get a clear vision of this divine assignment that God has for him and in 1993, God told him; “Arise and raise a distinguished people of excellence who will give me quality praise. This people will have a heritage of praise”. Whilst pursuing his assignment in Fountain of Praise on campus, Steve Ikebuwa served as a volunteer minister at the Fountain of Life Church and in the Praise and worship team under the Pastoral care of Pastor Taiwo Odukoya.

In October 1993, the commission was inaugurated, and the work started as an interdenominational campus fellowship named Fountain of Praise Fellowship. He pastored this work directly for 3 years before he graduated from school in 1996. He raised up leaders who under his superintendence, continued the work after his graduation.  Few years after his graduation, he got another instruction to start a church arm of the ministry in 2000; this church became known initially as Praise Heritage Christian Center (PHCC). The work began fully in Asaba, Delta State in the first quarter of 2004 but was formally inaugurated in September 2004.
